We make lawns richer in species. Workshop outdoors
Mari Tilk, PhD and Rein Kalamees, PhD, TBA researchers
The loss of habitats and biodiversity in urban environments is a serious problem.
The workshop will teach how to make an existing species-poor lawn chamber in a garden or park richer in species. We talk about suitable conditions for the emergence and survival of a species-rich grass meadow. We talk about plant species that are suitable and unsuitable for specific conditions, and weeds and alien species that threaten the species richness of the lawn. The topics of mowing lawns are discussed.
The event is part of the special program of the European Green Capital in the Botanical Garden.
NB! Visitors can participate in events with an entrance ticket to the botanical garden.
