Robotex, in cooperation with the Green Capital, is hosting the competition “My Car-Free City”

Robotex International has announced the RoboLeague 2023 competition, and the festival will take place on November 17-18 in Tallinn at the Unibet Arena. The theme for this year’s competition is “My Car-Free City.”

The 2023 Robotex International is taking place with the support of Tallinn, the European Green Capital 2023. The European Green Capital for 2023, Tallinn, has set a goal to bring the city closer to people, involve more individuals, businesses, various NGOs, and give a boost to environmentally friendly initiatives. This year’s theme for the RoboLeague competition, “My Car-Free City,” is inspired by the Green Capital idea.

The RoboLeague competition serves as a stepping stone for kindergarten and primary school children to enter the world of robotics. Unlike other Robotex competitions, speed and strength are not essential in RoboLeague, and there are no first to third-place winners. Instead, the competition celebrates all participants’ journey to Robotex as an exciting learning experience and values teamwork, creativity, and educational robot programming skills. This year’s RoboLeague competition gives children the opportunity to share their vision of a car-free city.

In addition to kindergartens, schools, and hobby groups, RoboLeague invites families to participate in the competition. Teams can consist of three to five members and must include children up to 12 years old.

Registration for the competition is open until October 31, with a competition fee of 10 euros plus VAT.
