Food and environment. Theme day in the palm house conference hall and classroom
Programme:
Anne Luik, professor emeritus, chair of plant health at the Estonian University of Life Sciences
The topic day will discuss different ways of growing food. Answers will be given to the questions of how intensive conventional production and organic agriculture differ and what their impact is on soil, water, biodiversity and food quality. It is discussed how it is possible to produce healthy food in a sustainable way – while maintaining biodiversity and being “climate-friendly”.
A matter of choices. Workshop.
Krista Kaur, TBA methodologist
How can you significantly reduce your ecological footprint with your daily food choices? If this topic is important to you, it is worth participating in the practical workshop “The question of choices”. The workshop will explain what the plant-based alternatives to meat, eggs and dairy products are and how conscious food choices can improve your health and energy level and at the same time maintain the health of your home planet.
The event is part of the special program of the European Green Capital in the Botanical Garden.
NB! Visitors can participate in events with an entrance ticket to the botanical garden.
