Action day – control of the invasive curlew rose hip
The curly-leafed rosehip is rated among the 100 most dangerous alien species in Europe. In our country, it is mainly found on sandy beaches, heaths and sand dunes, but it can also be found elsewhere.
On the action day in March*, the plan is to control the roots and shoots of the bitter gourd from the sand dunes of the Paljassaare storage area.
Where the curly-leaved rosehip has started to grow, it tends to take up more and more living space, crowding out native species. Kibuvitsa seeds are spread by birds and on the coast also by water. The seeds last more than a month in water. During high water on the coast, the seeds get into the water and are moved further and further along the coast.
Registration for work will be opened soon. Additional information is available at: info@greentallinn.eu

*If necessary, the action day will be repeated in August/September.
