Funds from the inclusive budget can only be used for objects of public use and open access.

In 2022, approximately 415 proposals were received. We were just waiting for environmental proposals for the year of the green capital. The planned total amount of the inclusive budget is one million euros.

In each district, one project that meets the conditions of the inclusive budget and which has been proposed by the residents of the district and which has received the most votes in the vote can be implemented next year.

The city of Tallinn initiated the inclusive budget for the first time in 2020, and the total amount of its investments in 2021 was 800,000 euros. At that time, the idea-collection received 420 ideas, of which 99 went on to public voting. In 2021, 389 ideas were received for the collection of ideas for the 2022 inclusive budget, and 132 of them went to the public vote.

What are the projects of previous years?

The planting of the trees that won last year’s vote overwhelmingly in the city centre will be completed in November. A total of 108 different types of trees – silver poplars, elms, maples, lime trees, pear trees and horse chestnuts – will be planted in 15 places chosen by people. When choosing the tree species, we took into account the special features of the planting sites and the specific growing environment.

There was also an idea to install drinking water taps in the city centre. As a result, there are now twice as many of them in the district as before.

The Löwenruh low adventure track was opened in Kristiine last week. It was the idea of ​​a 14-year-old local girl that has now become a reality.

In North Tallinn, for example, the alley of Cat August, an outdoor gym in Mustamäe, and an outdoor learning garden in Pirita are under construction.
