January 2024

Our new team member Triin Sakermaa presented Tallinn’s work to the Bristol SDG Alliance meeting on 25 January, focussing on how the European Green Capital year in Tallinn has led to positive changes in the city. Bristol’s SDG Alliance is an impressive example of broad participation and stakeholder engagement in the sustainable development of the city, gathering close to 200 stakeholders.

Bristol’s SDG Alliance is an impressive example of broad participation and stakeholder engagement in the sustainable development of the city. It meets every 6-8 weeks to share best practice and information about SDGs locally, nationally and internationally. It includes representatives from civil society, private sector, public sector and academia.

The Bristol SDG Alliance plays a key part in providing a space for cross-sector organisations to convene, share best practice, and collectively discuss approaches to address complex social, economic and environmental challenges facing the city. In line with the concept of a one city approach, the alliance aims to amplify diverse voices and drive the collective action required to achieving the UN sustainable development goals – Francesca Barclay, Operations and Stakeholder Manager, One City Office, Bristol City Council
