Maria Derlõš, urban gardening specialist

Today, urban gardening, or growing food in the urban environment, is an increasingly more common part of our urban culture and image. Community and learning gardens can be found in every district of Tallinn. More than a hundred gardens in total, where carrots and dill, as well as green thinking and a sense of community, are grown and taken care of together. I am working to ensure that our existing “edible” initiatives are sustainable and that more and more people are aware of the positive impacts of urban gardening and the possibilities of engaging in it.
