Tallinn waste stations switch to summer hours

Starting April 1, all Tallinn waste treatment plants will switch to their summer schedule. The Pääsküla, Rahumäe, Paljassaare, and Pärnamäe waste treatment plants will be open from 12.00 to 20.00 on weekdays and from 10.00 to 18.00 on weekends starting from the beginning of April.

The waste treatment plants accept unlimited quantities of old paper and cardboard, packaging, cooking oil and fat, scrap metal, complete electrical and electronic equipment, and usable furniture from Tallinn residents for free. Limited quantities of household garden and landscaping waste (0.6 m³ or six 100-liter bags), usable clothing (0.6 m³), untreated wood (1 m³), marked plastic waste (1 m³), tires (8 pieces), concrete (1 m³), pre-sorted bricks (1 m³), tiles and ceramic products (1 m³), sheet glass (1 m³), and certain amounts of hazardous waste can also be disposed of for free. Other types of waste and quantities exceeding the limits can be disposed of based on the waste station’s price list.

The Paljassaare waste treatment plant is located at Paljassaare põik 5, the Pärnamäe waste treament plant at Ristaia tee 8/Pärnamäe tee 36, the Pääsküla waste treament plant at Raba Street 40, and the Rahumäe waste treament plant at Rahumäe tee 5a.

The waste treament plant are closed on public holidays. Therefore, waste treament plants and hazardous waste collection points in the city will be closed on Spring Day (May 1), Victory Day and Midsummer’s Eve (June 23 and 24), and the Day of Restoration of Independence (August 20).
